I use to think getting “over the hump” day was designated to Wednesdays but today is only Monday and let me tell you, I’m HUMPING!!!

Dealing with sibling family drama is uhgggggg!!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I like drama, but I prefer my drama when I’m sitting in the middle of row C, in orchestra seats, in a place called, Off Broadway. I’m just saying!

I mean this “over the hump” saying thing has me going this morning so I go online to find out where it originated from.  When I keyed in the word, hump, I just knew the definition would read: pain in the behind sister or brother; instead I found that it is chiefly a British expression for a fit of depression or an emotional slump.

I also found that the word’s first known use was in 1681 and has its origin in German and Dutch languages.  After more surfing, I found a lot of motivational and inspirational quotes by well renowned people to help get you over that hump!  Then, I put it all away and went to my Bible, and inspiration from on high led me to pray:

Lord, I hate family drama; please help me to keep the mirror in front of me.
Forgive me for any part I had in it! Lord I pray Your Word and ask You to: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:10 AMP). In Jesus’ name I pray, amen

Matthew 18:2-7(KJV)

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.”

Oh Father in Heaven, I know that children are gifts that You have graciously given us and that in their dependency, their humbleness and willingness to be led, they are models that we should follow to enter Your heavenly kingdom, which is not faraway but according to Your Word, (Matthew 4:17 KJV) is at hand. It is Your spiritual kingdom where we are called and blessed to live under Your rule and authority, dear Lord.

My heart is heavy with sadness and filled with sympathy for the families that are mourning the loss of their children. But according to Your Word in (2Cor. 5:2 NLT), I believe in my heart that they are now with You Father. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord

As for the person, whom I believe was not acting in Your will Lord, but acting in accordance with his own free will when he ended the lives of these children, these precious gifts, all I keep asking in my heart is why, why, why?  But Father, I know You to be a just God and a righteous God, and not a man that he should lie. And so, I believe Your Word when You say:

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!” (Matthew 18:6-7 KJV).

Father, oh Father, for those who are left to mourn their loss please help them to find comfort for their hearts through the love and prayers of their family and friends. For those who just can’t seem to find comfort Lord, please lead them beside still waters and give them peace. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
