I said: “Oh but you’re wrong. The church IS in business. It’s in the business of leading souls to Christ.”
She smirked and said: “Okay, I get that. But all of that other stuff, that’s not my idea of what should be going on inside of a church especially on Sunday, and on any other day, for that matter!”
I said: “Well do you like the stuff that goes on inside of YOU on Sunday, and any other day, for that matter?”
She said: I don’t get it, what do you mean?
I said: “Let me break it down for you. You are the church. I am the church. Everyone who has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, is the church. And those brick and mortar, hallowed edifices, which we as Christians and servants of Christ frequent on Sunday, or any other day, are buildings. Some of them are humbly small and some are enormously grand but they are still just the buildings, where we, who ARE the Church, meet!”
Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
