She said: “Why is there a bookstore, a snack bar, a restaurant, and ATM machines inside of your church? That’s not right. The church is not in business.”

I said: “Oh but you’re wrong. The church IS in business. It’s in the business of leading souls to Christ.”

She smirked and said: “Okay, I get that. But all of that other stuff, that’s not my idea of what should be going on inside of a church especially on Sunday, and on any other day, for that matter!”

I said: “Well do you like the stuff that goes on inside of YOU on Sunday, and any other day, for that matter?”

She said: I don’t get it, what do you mean?

I said: “Let me break it down for you. You are the church. I am the church. Everyone who has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, is the church. And those brick and mortar, hallowed edifices, which we as Christians and servants of Christ frequent on Sunday, or any other day, are buildings. Some of them are humbly small and some are enormously grand but they are still just the buildings, where we, who ARE the Church, meet!”

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
Ephesians 4:15 (NLT)

Winning!

Are you battling against what appears to be insurmountable odds? Used up every weapon in your arsenal?  Don’t know where to turn, or what to do? Feel like you’re out for the count?  PLEASE STOP!  Think on this:

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.
(Exodus 14:14)

Now say it: The Lord will fight for me, and I shall hold my peace!

Here are just a few biblical accounts of God’s miraculous rescuing power and love!

-The Israelites and Pharaoh’s Army (the parting of the Red Sea)
Exodus 14

-Joshua and Jericho (the march around the walls of the city) Joshua 6

-Gideon and the Midianites (a dream, trumpets, clay pots, and lanterns) Judges 7-8

-David and Goliath (5 stones and a sling) 1 Samuel 17

-Hezekiah and the Assyrians (a message to a king, a message from a prophet) Isaiah 37

Psalm 33: 16-22

No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.

A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help

and our shield.  In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

The strength of man-made military might cannot stand against the Lord!!

Lens Cleaner Anyone??

I wear glasses. They help me see. I take them off just before I go to sleep at night and I put them on as soon as I get up each morning. Sometimes the lenses of my glasses are clouded and smudged with the fingerprints of yesterday, and my sight is limited; I need a clearer point of view. So, I wash and clean my lenses with a solution called, Lens Cleaner (I get it when I'm in Walgreens) but…

When it comes to the lenses I use for the eyes of my LIMITED understanding...well, they're ALWAYS clouded and smudged. I so wash and clean them with a solution that helps me see things more clearly and from a HIGHER point of view. It's called, God’s Word (I get it when I'm in the Bible).

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD
Isaiah 55:8 (ESV)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)

My Acronym Prayer of FAITH

F- Father thank You for protection and Your precious gift of

A- Access. This gift You have given comforts, strengthens, and

I- Inspires me to believe beyond the sight of proof. I am

T- Trusting in You, and Your promises to me, as I

H- Hope with expectancy for Your answer.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
