I love words

Isn't it funny how some words can sound the same, be spelled the same, but have completely different meanings depending on your mindset and the scenario you put them in? Take for instance, the word "peace" when you link it with the word, "officer".

The "peace officer" is a public-sector employee or agent whose primary responsibilities involve the enforcement of laws. This terminology can include police officers, corrections officers, customs officers, state troopers, and so on … there is a plethora of titles that fall under the term "peace officer". Traditionally it is anyone who is sworn in, given a badge and weapon, and the authority to arrest, or refer an arrest for a criminal prosecution.  The peace officer's purpose is all about law enforcement. When I take the same word "peace", and put it with the same word "officer" I get a completely different meaning.

The "peace officer" is Jesus Christ. With His authority He took me out from under the burden of prosecution for the law that try as I might, I just couldn't keep, and He brought me into grace when I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. Oohhh, the peace that has followed me ever since.

"Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:7 NLT

Simply Classed

In this world we are classified in many ways. We are classified by ethnic backgrounds, cultures, religions, political views, the music we listen to, the clothing we wear, the food we eat, and so on, and so on, and so on...

But, here's one of the things I love about God, He keeps it simple. He classifies us in only two ways: He classifies us as either believers or unbelievers.
Which one are you?

Did You Lose Something?

"Don't make me lose my religion, I ain't always been a Christian!..."

This is an old term I've heard and used to use myself when I felt it was time to read someone for something they had said or done to make me angry. I would curse them out and then blame them for making me have to go there. When I started living the next stage of my life at a different level I came upon a quote by author Dr. Laura Schlessinger that made me realize that I have no one to blame but myself for the way I respond in situations like that. Here it is:

"The people and circumstances around me do not make me the way I am, they reveal who I am"

That's Bible!
"For whatever is in your heart determines what you say."
Matt 12:34(NLT)

Searching, Searching

Ever been searched before? Maybe it was the pat down or the frisk; maybe it was the wand or the metal detector. It might have even been the x-ray or body imaging search that's now done at airports. But advanced as the searching system has become, it is still outclassed by ONE.  Because nobody does it more thoroughly or better than You, Lord!

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even
when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Psalm 139:1-3 (NLT)
