Pull a Donald Trump Card

YOU’RE FIRED!
Is there anyone out there who is being treated mean or unfairly by a boss or a manager, even when you are trying to do the right thing?

Could this be you?
You travel to your job every day and just as you are approaching the building where you work your pace starts slowing down because you feel like you’ve got a ten pound bag of cement attached to each ankle. The weight of the heart that you carry is so heavy your body can hardly support it.

You say to yourself: “I hate coming to this place. It used to be fun before my job was moved to this taskmaster’s department. This person is no better than a plantation overseer. I just HATE it!”

You feel trapped because there’s nothing you can do about it at this time. You have to be here to “render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s” because you’re a single parent, and you’ve got mouths to feed and rent to pay.

If this is you, here’s a suggestion for the next time you are confronted by your taskmaster…

Right there, and right then, pull a Donald Trump card (pun intended). Look that person in their face and in your heart, and in your mind say,
“YOU’RE FIRED!”

Move him or her out of the way, and make the Lord your Boss and Manager, TODAY!

(Colossians 3:23-24, NLT)
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

GETTING WET

Ever been caught out in the rain I'm talkin' downpour?  And, you didn't have an umbrella so you were hugging the side of any store front building you could find just to be covered by the little bits of awning that it provided.

Now you're kicking yourself because you didn't pay attention to the weather report this morning when it said: “Expect heavy showers.”

Getting your hair wet spells disaster and pleeease, the new silk blouse that you charged yesterday, you really can't afford to get it messed up because you’re returning it tomorrow.
While you wait, for the rain to stop, the clock is ticking and you know you're going to be late for your job interview and you really need this job! I’d say you’re in a pickle of a fix.
                                                   But…

Let's change this up a bit what if it were raining heavy showers of blessings. Can't you just see it? You, standing out there in the rain, head tilted back, mouth wide open, arms outstretched, not a hair care, not a clothing care, not a job care; Drench me Lord, soak me to the gills!!

I will bless my people and their homes around my holy Hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26

THE FATTER, THE BETTER

Today, I’m a citizen of that community of people who feel the need to be on some kind of diet or quest to get lean. I have cut back on bread, sweets, pasta, and portions and I am achieving the desired results. I am 30 pounds leaner. It's a good look for my body!

But I’m also a citizen of the Kingdom and in that community I want to be enormously fat with thankfulness, over stuffed with the sweeter than honey taste of the Word, and I want to always have a super-sized appetite for the Bread of Life. Because, in the Kingdom, leanness is NOT a good look for my soul!

They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel,
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert.
And He gave them their request,  But sent leanness into their soul.
Psalm 106:13-15

Need to warm up?  Start with praise and worship

Need to exercise your faith?  Walk with God!

Need to increase you strength and endurance? Lift Jesus up!

Need to count your sets and reps?  Count your blessings, name them one by one!

Need someone to spot you?  Get a prayer partner.

Need to fill your water bottle?   Fill it with the water of the Word!

And whatever you do, DON’T drop your membership! You need this and… it’s FREE!!

I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1Cor. 9:27 (NLT)

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:14 (NLT)
