THE VOICE

There is a TV show that I like to watch it is called The Voice. If you've ever watched it then you know that the contestants sing to coaches who have their backs turned to them. If a coach hears a voice that moves them enough to turn around a choice is made, a contestant is chosen, and a relationship is started with the hopes of becoming a winner.

The concept of this show always takes me back to a time in my life when I walked with my back to God's truth, and I walked in a truth of my own. But one day, sight unseen, I heard a voice that  was so powerful. It moved me and I just had to turn around to see who it was. That was the day I faced the TRUTH. That was the day I made a choice. That was the day a relationship was started. And now I am a winner because of this:

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, (John 10:26-28 NLT)

Have you heard the VOICE this day?

IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT...

Have you ever been in a situation where there were just too many cooks in the kitchen?

When there are too many cooks in the kitchen the heat can get turned up real high. Things can become very confusing and disjointed because of stubbornness, pride, and quick tempers. But not to worry, I have a solution! Just serve up some pie, and don't get it twisted…I'm not talkin' Grandma's apple pie! Here's my recipe:

Pie Filling

1 can  Cooperation

1 can Understanding

1 cup Kindness

1 cup  Patience

1 cup  Forgiveness

8 cups  Humility

2 tbsp  Repentance

2 tsp Humor

Thoroughly mix ALL ingredients together and set aside. Prepare Pie Crust.

Pie Crust

2 cups (tare separated) Wheat Flour (please, do not add yeast!)

Mix with equal amounts of Faith, Water and Word until crust can be rolled into one piece.

Line bottom of deep pie dish with enough crust to hold pie filling firmly and pour in filling. Once pie dish is filled, top pie with remaining crust and seal the edges. Place in hot oven and cook; pie is done when color is golden. Serve it up warm.

Note: Grandma's Apple Pie may taste heavenly, but Humble Pie IS Heavenly!

1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

I'M LAUGHING!

I love to laugh. It's such a part of my life! I came across this joke and I had to share. I pray it brings a little laughter to someone today!

I don't want to go to church today!

A mother went to wake her son for church one Sunday morning. When she knocked on his door, he said, “I’m not going!” “Why not?” asked his mother. “I’ll give you two good reasons,” he said. “One, they don’t like me. Two, I don’t like them.” His mother replied, “I’ll give you two good reasons why YOU WILL go to church. One, you’re 47 years old. Two, you’re the pastor!”

I WANT IT NOW!

When waiting and being patient is required but you are in a hurry, you opt out for your own shortcut and you ignore the danger signs along the way.

When you ignore the danger signs along the way you climb the fence of an enclosed field even though the sign on the fence say
s:
"DANGER KEEP OUT."

When you climb the fence, at first you don't see the shadow of a big bull lurking behind the trees.

When you see the bull you think you can get across the field in five seconds but you don't realize that the bull can do it in two.

When you don't realize that the bull can do it in two seconds you end up in a hospital, in traction, with broken ribs, limbs and bruises, and a nurse that tells you, "It's going to take six weeks before you get out of here so please wait and be patient."

Don't end up in a hospital in traction!

Don't end up with broken ribs, limbs and bruises!
Don't hate the wait!

Get rid of your impatience!
Upgrade to trusting in, and waiting on, the Lord!

Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV)

Oxymoron ANYONE?

Oxymoron: a combination of words that have opposite or very different meanings.

There are many types of oxymorons and they are used for a variety of purposes;sometimes to produce a  dramatic effect when read or listened to. But, whether they are used humorously or seriously, they are designed to make you pause and think. Here are a few oxymoronic concepts I found at Oxymorons.info

  • Seeing you again was bitter sweet.
  • Walking up stairs gets me down.
  • I'm from the government, I'm here to help.
  • I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous!
  • I'm sorry, but I never apologize!

  • Buying an original copy
  • Busy doing nothing
  • Ordering jumbo shrimp

Here's my example of an oxymoronic concept that could be detrimental to your prayer life:
  • Praying, and worrying about the outcome.

Instead:
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6, NLT)

i got you!

Do you remember this phrase? "I got your back!" Now it's been shortened and people say: "I got you!"

In either case, these are phrases that make you feel good, feel safe, and protected; especially if it's said by someone you trust, and know to be capable of delivering on that promise. But here's the thing: What person can be there for you ALL OF THE TIME? It's just not realistic, or even humanly possible since we all have our own confusions and problems to solve.

Not to worry though, for there is ONE, and I'm reassured every time I read the 23rd Psalm. I know I'm protected and I know He's got me, because like some of the words in a song that I love says: "When the storms of life are raging and the billows roll, I'm glad He shall hide me safe in His arms."  Are
YOU safe today?
